Artist's Statement:
This is one of my favorite drawings in my extensive collection. The reference photos for this piece were taken and a Grand Prix Jumper show outside of Cleveland, OH, and at another Grand Prix event in Wellington, FL. I wanted to convey the power and lift in these magnificent athletes.

Kelli Swan
A native of Northern Ohio, Kelli obtained her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Akron with Summa Cum Laude honors.  Her foremost artistic interest has always been the dramatic effect of monochromatic media.  Depicting a love and appreciation of animals, and a fascination with the automobile, her graphite drawings have been accepted into numerous juried art shows, winning several awards.

Kelli owns and operates Cygnet Graphics, Inc.  "Cygnet" is the Latin word for young swan.  It has become her business name as well as a pen name for her drawings.

Kelli has worked on a series of "horse in sport" drawings with the horse in a variety of historical and sports-related scenes, as well as a series of canine drawings illustrating various dog breeds.  Limited edition prints of many of her drawings are available.
